건축은 환경과 삶의 관계를 조정하는 구조적 행위입니다. 황두진건축은 주어진 상황을 읽고 오래 작동하는 조건을 찾는 데 관심이 있으며 연구와 실행을 분리하지 않는 태도로 작업합니다.

2000년 서울 구도심에서 시작된 작업은 주거, 상업, 공공건축, 문화유산, 도시 연구로 확장되어 한국 전역과 해외에서 수행되어 왔습니다. 규모와 유형이 달라도 모든 프로젝트는 장소와 조건에 대한 이해에서 출발합니다.

설계는 완성된 결과물에 머물지 않습니다. 조사와 기록, 글쓰기와 전시, 토론과 협업을 통해 건축이 놓이는 맥락을 함께 다룹니다. 100회 이상 이어온 공개 강연 시리즈 ‘영추포럼’을 비롯한 출판과 전시는 이러한 태도의 연장선에 있습니다.

의뢰인의 요구를 충족하는 동시에 건축이 장기적으로 존속할 기준을 제안합니다. 충분한 설명과 투명한 과정, 현실적인 판단 또한 설계의 일부입니다.

건축은 재료를 다루는 기술이면서 시간을 다루는 작업입니다. 우리는 그 과정을 조율하는 조직으로 남고자 합니다.

Founded in 2000 in the historic center of Seoul, our work has expanded to housing, commercial and public buildings, cultural heritage, and urban research across Korea and abroad. Regardless of scale or program, every project begins with an understanding of place and circumstance.

Design does not end with the completed object. Through investigation, documentation, writing, exhibitions, discussion, and collaboration, we address the broader context in which architecture operates. The ongoing public lecture series Youngchoo Forum, along with publications and exhibitions, extends this approach.

While meeting the needs of clients, we also propose criteria that allow architecture to endure over time. Careful explanation, transparent process, and practical judgment are part of the design itself.

Architecture is both the craft of working with materials and the discipline of working with time.
